SELL ART, NOT BOOTY
We like the music more than we like a sellable body
"I used to be a fashion blogger. I stopped. Mainly because as much style as people tell me I have and as often as I spend time checking out new styles of clothing and fashion trends, I don't know how to write about it. This was hard to come to, honestly, to know that no matter how badly I wanted to be a blogger, it just may not work out that well. Not to mention that I wasn't quite as passionate about my 'passion' as I assumed that I was, and the premise of a fashion blog soon felt downright dumb.
Not wanting to give up my dream of blogging, I came to the realization that my biggest 'passion' was worth blogging about more than something I just liked. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. Music is like my blood or a story of my life. Memories usually have a playlist in my mind, deeply embedded in emotions and meaning. I listen to music in other languages. I've had ear-gasms before orgasms. One of the top things that I look for in someone that I'm dating is that they have to be a music lover. I love making playlists. I love discovering new songs. This music thing, the very thing that inspires me as a visual artist, is exactly what I need to be spending my time blogging about. So I started this.
So here's to the child me who constantly was in trouble for music related crimes such as sneaking on youtube, downloading music from the internet, or listening to the radio when I wasn't allowed. All the way up to the woman I am now, who really will listen to anything, but has made a conscious choice to always differentiate between pop music and real music. I made the choice to center this blog around real music.
